Self-Improvement: Are You Lonesome Tonight?

"I'm bored."

I used to think that this meant that there do not have enough. Now I know that the person making the statement will be properly maintained, or someone else they respect.

"I'm lonely," a similar explanation is available. People who claim that they are often lonely sad that others are not, or to visit with them.

Bored and lonely are dangerous conditions. can bring you sadness, vulnerability and lead to poor decisions. Depression, addiction andInput can cause inappropriate relationships.

If you are a bit bored or lonely consider the many options you have.


Do not expect your children or family members to meet all your needs. Actively seeking ways to interest and interesting. Find people with similar interests, that you can make positive friendships.
Here are a few who is lonelier than you. Consider those that care homes are limited, for example. You could, be surprised how much aVisit to encourage you both.
Join a group that does community service. Activity kills boredom and community members filled with loneliness.
Register in a course. Think of something you have never done before and learn to master the skills. Learn to speak another language play, re-finish a piece of furniture or an instrument. Maybe you can even in a diploma or degree course.
Find a talent or skills you have gained through volunteer work. Teach someoneto read, to knit a coach or scout leader, terms for the homeless, bake for a good cause, snow shoveling for seniors.
Enjoy some of the treasures you have. Look at your photo albums, listening to a favorite CD, read the book at Christmas received.
Visit interesting places in your community. Go to the library, walking to a park, visits to the museum.
Put your thoughts down on paper. Write to memories for future generations, send a card and note to a friend, a letter to the editor of yourNewspaper.
Attack a project that you have been avoided. Clean one drawer, delete e-mails to sort the old magazines.
Think back to your youth and do something that you enjoy using it. Go swimming, invite someone to play cards, take a pet, turn on the music and dance.

Self-Improvement - A challenge is just one way in Disguise

Some of the toughest times of my life were the times I grew the most. No way I want to go back and live those days again, but I would not trade who I am today because of this difficult time. I am a better person today because I grew up through these difficult times.

I've played a lot of tennis over the years. A few years ago I suffered a major injury to my right shoulder during a doubles match. I tore the shoulder capsule and dislocated my shoulder in my directionback.

I had surgery and I remember that after about my father that the operation may not have been successful. There was more damage than originally expected. I spent the next three weeks with my shoulder practically immobile. I then went through five months of physical therapy. The goal was to shoulder stability and return to me as much freedom as possible.

All during that time I was inside a dream. I wanted to play tennis. I wanted to play in the GTEIndy Open, was a semi-professional tournament. I had never played in a semi-professional tournament. But I believed I could do it. I thought I could overcome this injury and play better than I ever played.

After a few months of hard work, I got back on the court and finally in a tournament. The first tournaments were rough. My shoulder could handle only so much stress and then I would have to begin serving underhanded to protect my shoulder. Do you know how hard it is to win, isa match served underhand? But I stopped and paid my hard work and faith.

Eight months after the operation I was in a very special tennis court. There was a court Guidance GTE Indy Open. I was there! I've done it! I'm just the first round in singles, but I was there. The dream was done. The icing on the cake was the collaboration with my good friend Arnel Gallanosa for the doubles competition. We have the quarter-finals where we played the number one seeded team of the tournament.We lost that day but what an experience it. Not bad for a kid who was on an operating table, only eight months earlier.

The lessons I learned from faith and perseverance all the pain that I pay by all (not funny, but worthwhile) went. When hard times come hang tough and see what you can learn, because this is an opportunity in disguise.

The Self-Help Paradox

In rethinking these articles and searching the Internet I found a book in 2003 was already published: The paradox of self-help (1).

I read the review and decided to write this article after all. The book is overflow of the self-help support is available on the on the market. In my opinion, the paradox lies in the fact that the only way to prevent this is not for all you give to the self-help section. So it is not I'm lazy or tooEase, but I do not know what disturbs, or whatever you call (others) that could be me or not.

Before Freud, there was no such thing as psycho-analysis. Now there is and there are many more solutions in the solution of psychological problems. Of course, not all self-help is the same or similar domain of psychology, but have many books that focus.

There are many self-help books on almost any topic or niche. And in the article is one of the major market segments, both inNumber of items than the number of times.

But even if you want help, there comes a time, "it would have, where you leave behind the self-help. The moment you start reading the self-help section (as in this article) you are not in a position to spend more time on other activities.
